The Perpetuus Tidal Energy Centre (PTEC) Managed Test Site, seeks to establish a facility where tidal energy developers can test/develop test tidal energy devices.
The project will involve the installation of subsea infrastructure that may affect commercial fisheries that operate in the waters in and around the test site. MacAlister Elliott & Partners were contracted by Royal Haskoning DHV to prepare the Commercial and Recreational Fisheries chapter of the Environmental Statement. This requires MEP 1) to gather novel data from commercial fishermen and fisheries regulatory bodies to determine the spatial and temporal patterns of current commercial fishing activity at and around the project site; 2) to determine how the project would interact with commercial fisheries; 3) to design, in consultation with the client, suitable mitigation measures where required; and 4) to provide fisheries liaison services.
