The 1.2 gigawatt Sofia Offshore Wind Farm, 165 km off the UK’s North East coast, is currently progressing through the latter stages of development and design. MEP have been contracted by Innogy Renewables UK, as the project’s compensation strategy specialists. Specific tasks will include:
- the design of a compensation strategy for local and international fishers potentially affected by the project
- provide advice on the potential future liabilities to the project from pre-construction through to operation
- negotiate any compensation or disruption agreements necessary for planned site activities
- liaison as appropriate with regulators, the fishing industry in all relevant countries and with the appointed Fisheries Liaison Officers, Fishing Industry Representative
