The Government of India began the development of their fishing harbours back in 1955 and by 1977, the World Bank had conducted an Appraisal Report and part of this Report was the creation of a Fisheries Terminal Division. MEP provided a Management Specialist for the efficient running of the Fisheries Terminal Divisions at Veraval and Mangrol, Gujarat, India. The work centred around three areas i) basic organisational structure of the FTD, its nature and constitution; ii) physical requirements and operational procedures for the terminals and the financial budget implications, and iii) commissioning of a plan for the proposed opening of the Mangrol Terminal.
