MEP were working on behalf of the Ministry of Fisheries Wealth in Oman to develop a management strategy and a fleet blueprint for a coastal fishing fleet based in Oman. The aim of the project was to replace existing fishing effort, based on inefficient and unsafe vessels, using unsustainable fishing methods, with modern vessels. The improved fleet should target new resources offshore.
