MEP were contracted to provide consultancy services to assess sea safety of small scale or artisanal fishing vessels in Kenya.
The objective of the analysis was to strengthen the knowledge base on safety at sea in the marine small-scale fisheries sector in Kenya, including addressing hazards and risks emanating from climate change. The GoK, SDF-BE, coastal county governments, and other relevant stakeholders and decision makers need to be better positioned to take informed decisions targeted at improving sea safety of small-scale marine fishing communities.
