The objective of the study was to provide recommendations for enhancing responsible private sector engagement and investment in the Vietnamese shrimp fishery, and in turn help the country reach its industry development goals. The study was focused on the value chains associated with the shrimp aquaculture, taking into consideration the different carbon/environmental footprints of the various production models. Additionally, the development of other mariculture opportunities were considered (including crustaceans, seaweed and finfish) through a SWOT analyses for each species group. Following the completion of these components, a virtual private sector roundtable was held to discuss and share the findings with actors in the industry, including shrimp farmers, local and national Government and feed suppliers. The team also reviewed the pre-feasibility studies associated with the SFDP.
