A dry cargo vessel and an oil tanker collided in the Bosporus causing a major oil spill and resulting in a claim for lost fishing and damage to boats of over $3,000,000. MEP assessed the claims and negotiated an agreed settlement of $280,000 as total compensation. This was the first fisheries claim in Turkey that was settled without court proceedings.
